You speak the truth in regards to Just. Korn have some amazing basslines though. When I saw them just over a year ago their bassist Fieldy was right infront of me, and I was mesmerized by his intricate playing. It's difficult to describe though. Like, he slaps on a five-string but it's very different. But I can't think of a specific example.

For the funk: Dre - Nothin' but a G thang

For the awesomeness: Muse - Hysteria

For the danceyness: Fedde Le Grand - Put your hands up for detroit

For all 3: Wait til you hear this Funky-dance-metal song I've written for YAWA Very Happy

Korn do have some pretty amazing basslines

Although Green Day do too. Even though they are pretty simplistic they still pretty catchy especially the ones on the Insomniac album Mr. Green

Fieldy is frickin' ace. I remember watching the freak on a leash video as a kid and being transfixed by the slappage.

Never really thought of Greenday as a bass-heavy band but come to think of it they do break down to some catchy bass riffs now and again!

You really should. I've seen them twice Razz [/gloat]. But no, they're playing Download, so I guess there's a small chance of them one or two smaller gigs too.

I don't think Fieldy can be human, to be honest. He does this thing where just swaps his hands around in some kind of weird, smooth formation...I can't describe it, it's something that needs to be watched. But dayumn, I cannae find anything on YouTube.

And that's meant to be relatively simple...

its well weird how he plays, but now i know which strings to buy cuz the ones i buy never seem to stay 'bright'

quite funny, the way he saw flea playing bass is one of the reasons why i wanted to play bass instead of guitar.

Most Red Hot Chilli Peppers songs have some amazing bass lines. Californication, Around The World, but probably the best has to be Mellowship Slinky In B Minor. It's such a funky bass line, and such good fun to play.

My all time favourite bassist has to be Tye Zamora of Alien Ant Farm though. He never fails to add some groove to some really rocky tunes. He's just awesome.

Fieldy and Mike Dirnt are also good bassists, especially Fieldy who plays a 5-string like I've never seen before.

For me my fave basslines are probably from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, leared Can't Stop yesterday it was fun to play and was pretty cool to jam along to the video lol.

Maybe you should put up some of the basslines for your songs up here Very Happy
